*NOW:* Vanilla creatures have between 1-4 reference loot templates that contain rare items in their creature_loot_template. 99%+ of the mobs have a 0.5% chance per template with an average of 3 reference loot templates that contain only rare items. This means that players have an average chance of 1.5%~ to loot a rare item every time they kill a mob (1 per 67~ kill) in one of the vanilla zones (except low level zones that does not drop rares). There are also a couple of creatures that have a way too high chance to drop rares due to faulty numbers:
"Sorrow Wing":https://db.rising-gods.de/?npc=5928#drops ---> Has a 100% chance to drop 2x rare items
"Elder Razormaw":https://db.rising-gods.de/?npc=1019 ---> Has a 10% chance to drop a rare item
"Highland Scytheclaw":https://db.rising-gods.de/?npc=1017 ---> Has a 5% chance to drop a rare item
"Highland Razormaw":https://db.rising-gods.de/?npc=1018 ---> Has a 5% chance to drop a rare item
"Mottled Scytheclaw":https://db.rising-gods.de/?npc=1022 ---> Has a 5% chance to drop a rare item
*SHOULD:* While it is very hard to gather exact data on this, it should be known to most players who played official WoW during =<WOTLK patch that the current standard TrinityCore drop rates are way too generous. When a BoE rare item drops, it should be something for that player to either equip with a feeling of uniqueness (that most other players in same level range won't have) or something that has a good value on the auction house. With the current drop rates, the items do not really feel unique (many players will have that same BoE rare item as you) nor does it really have the worth it should on the AH.
*SOLUTION*: Lowering the drop chance of each Vanilla Rare Reference Loot Template from 0.5% to 0.1% will give players an average chance of 0.3% (1 per 333~ kills) to loot a rare item. This should be a lot closer to the actual drop rate back then. Keep in mind that it is almost impossible to get exact numbers here and the number I've chosen is a rough estimate based on the data I've gone through. It is however, by no means exact. However, it should serve a lot better than the current values. Exploitable mobs mentioned above are also fixed.
