Icecrown Quest: New Recruit quest item bugged
Beschreibung
The quest item for the quest New Recruit requires that it be equipped to be usable, but the item cannot be equipped.
On live servers it's simply an normal, non-equipment item you use on the target once they've been sufficiently weakened. However no amount of spamming the item regardless of health status worked as it continually reports that the item must be equipped first or that it cannot be used in combat. And any attempts of using the item without being in combat reports that the item cannot be equipped.

Sigil of the Ebon Blade quest item for the Icecrown Quest: New Recruit.
It acts like it's a Death Knight sigil relic (lighting up the relic section on my equipment screen when I pick it up) and demands my DK equip it to use it, even though it's not supposed to be equipped or even equippable, nor is actually able to be equipped. It's simply an item supposed to be used once the Target is weakened message appears.
So when I try to use it, it simply spams me with either: you need to you equip that to use it (outside of combat) OR you cannot do that in combat (while in combat).

The item in your screenshot has the wrong symbol (see https://db.rising-gods.de/?item=43315) although it has the same name+description
Try abandoning the quest, throw away the item and then retake it. If this does not work please repair your client.

we only have a guide in german (https://www.rising-gods.de/2-allgemein/234-torrent.html#1.5)
you could also re-download it but you should make sure to remove the old files since I think they are corrupted
