At the fifth stack, it becomes a Choking Wound. The dot does a lot of damage and makes it so you cannot move. Be sure to try and keep the fifth one off of you.

Also, anything that removes movement impairing effects will remove this debuff. Things such as shifting forms(Druid), Insignias, Escape Artist, etc...
